Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty. Their chances are less than average. There are those too, who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest.

Rara vez hemos visto fracasar a una persona que haya seguido concienzudamente nuestro camino. Los únicos que no se recuperan son los individuos que no pueden, o no quieren entregarse de lleno a este sencillo programa; generalmente son hombres y mujeres incapaces, por su propia naturaleza, de ser sinceros con ellos mismos. Hay seres desventurados como éstos. No son culpables; por lo que parece, han nacido así. Por su naturaleza, son incapaces de entender y de realizar un modo de vida que exige la más rigurosa sinceridad. Para éstos, las probabilidades de éxito son pocas. Existen también los que sufren graves trastornos emocionales y mentales, aunque muchos de ellos logran recuperarse si tienen la capacidad de ser sinceros.
